As a Senior MSR, you play an important role in identifying and meeting member needs by delivering excellent service, giving advice and building relationships.  The Senior MSR report directly to the MSR Supervisor, and will assist in providing direction and supervision to a team of MSR’s.  You will provide technical direction, resolve complex problems and member concerns.  With leadership and development skills the Senior MSR will grow the branch deposit portfolio, supporting branch sales operations, and supporting the development of profitable growth throughout the branch network are the key focus areas for the role.
A day in the life:

  • Provide a broad range of face-to-face services to members including (but not limited to) processing deposits, withdrawals, loan and utility payments, cheque cashing;
  • Build relationships with existing and new members, seeking opportunities that are the best fit for the individual needs of each member;
  • Identify opportunities to meet member needs beyond their original request, and refer those members to other specialists within the credit union as needed; and
  • Contribute to overall business development through excellent service, product knowledge and quality referrals.
  • Partner on the development of the credit union services strategy in conjunction with credit union leadership, including regular review & development, definition of the key metrics and alignment of focus areas.
  • Responsible for removing obstacles to customer satisfaction and/or financial performance for the member service team.
  • Provide advice and training to member service, driving a sales and service culture.
  • Act as a key resource to the member service team, including helping to resolve complex issues ensuring resolution.
  • Strong understanding of branch security.
  • Open and close branch operations.
  • Manage vault duties compliance and control regulations.
  • Assist with registered products and investments, POA and estates.        
Your experience and qualifications:

  • Minimum grade 12 diploma.
  • Minimum 2 years credit union experience at a MSR 2 position.
  • Financial Planning course is considered an asset.
  • Understanding and adherence to the Privacy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, and Terrorist Financing Act, the Credit Union Act and Credit Union Loan Policies.
  • Solid understanding of issues in the financial services sector, including, but not limited to, credit union governance, legislative requirements and responsibilities and risk management.
  • Strong member sales and service skills
  • Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with computer applications
