What is involved in getting a safety deposit box?
You will sign a lease agreement that identifies those who may have access to the box. You are given two keys which can only be duplicated through Carpathia Credit Union. We recommend you carry one key and store the other in a safe place (but not the safety deposit box!). We have the master key which is required along with your key to access the contents.
What if I lose my key?
If you lose one key, bring the other to the Credit Union immediately for duplication. If you lose both, the lock will be drilled out and replaced at your expense.
Are the contents of my safety deposit box insured?
The Credit Union is unable to provide insurance on what you store in the box as the contents are confidential and known only to you. If this is a concern, please contact your insurance agency to arrange coverage.
What happens if I die or become disabled?
Documents can be released to properly authorized persons such as your spouse or executor.
